Student Code of Conduct

This policy explains the behaviour, discipline, appearance, respect, responsibility, and moral standards expected from every student of Infopath Academy.

Infopath Academy is committed to maintaining a safe, respectful, disciplined, and positive learning environment for all students.

This Student Code of Conduct explains the behaviour, values, responsibilities, and standards expected from every learner. It applies to students during school hours, school activities, online learning, school trips, examinations, and any situation where the student represents Infopath Academy.

Purpose of the Code of Conduct

The purpose of this code is to promote discipline, respect, responsibility, safety, academic focus, and moral development. It helps students understand what is expected of them and supports a school culture where learning can take place peacefully and effectively.

General Behaviour Expectations

Students are expected to:

  • Respect teachers, staff, school leaders, visitors, and fellow students
  • Speak politely and avoid abusive language
  • Attend school regularly and punctually
  • Participate actively in classroom learning
  • Complete assignments and classwork on time
  • Obey school rules and instructions
  • Take care of school property
  • Maintain personal hygiene and neat appearance
  • Avoid fighting, bullying, stealing, dishonesty, and misconduct
  • Represent the school positively within and outside the school environment
  • Respect for Others

Students must treat others with dignity, kindness, and respect. No student should insult, threaten, bully, mock, harass, intimidate, or embarrass another person.

Every learner has the right to feel safe, valued, and respected at school.

Attendance and Punctuality

Students are expected to attend school regularly and arrive on time. Absence from school should be explained by the parent or guardian.

Repeated lateness or unexplained absence may affect the student’s academic progress and may require school intervention.

Classroom Conduct

Students are expected to maintain good behaviour in the classroom.

They should:

  • Listen attentively during lessons
  • Raise their hands before speaking where required
  • Avoid disturbing others
  • Complete class activities
  • Respect classroom materials
  • Participate positively
  • Follow teacher instructions
  • Ask questions respectfully
  • Appearance and Uniform

Students must wear the approved school uniform neatly and correctly. Hair, shoes, socks, and general appearance should follow the school’s dress and grooming standards.

Students are expected to take pride in their appearance and represent the school with dignity.

Academic Integrity

Students must be honest in all academic activities. Cheating, copying, impersonation, examination malpractice, plagiarism, or any form of academic dishonesty is not allowed.

Students are expected to do their own work and seek help from teachers when they do not understand.

Bullying and Harassment

Bullying in any form is not permitted at Infopath Academy. This includes physical bullying, verbal bullying, social exclusion, cyberbullying, intimidation, teasing, and threats.

Students who experience or witness bullying should report to a teacher, school leader, counsellor, or trusted staff member.

Use of School Property

Students must handle school property with care. This includes books, desks, chairs, computers, laboratory equipment, sports items, classroom materials, restrooms, buildings, and school surroundings.

Damage caused intentionally may attract disciplinary action and possible replacement cost.

Prohibited Behaviour

The following behaviours are not permitted:

  • Fighting
  • Bullying
  • Stealing
  • Dishonesty
  • Use of abusive language
  • Disrespect to staff or students
  • Examination malpractice
  • Vandalism
  • Truancy
  • Possession of harmful objects
  • Cyber misconduct
  • Disruption of learning
  • Leaving school without permission
  • Any behaviour that threatens safety or discipline

Disciplinary Measures

Disciplinary action may be taken when a student violates the code of conduct. The purpose of discipline is correction, guidance, character development, and protection of the school community.

Disciplinary measures may include:

  • Verbal warning
  • Written warning
  • Counselling
  • Parent notification
  • Community service within school
  • Loss of privilege
  • Behaviour monitoring
  • Suspension where necessary
  • Other actions approved by school management

Serious misconduct may be referred to the school leadership for further action.

Parent and Guardian Support

Parents and guardians are expected to support the school by encouraging good behaviour, punctuality, neatness, respect, regular attendance, and academic responsibility at home.

Strong cooperation between home and school helps students develop discipline and positive character.

Student Commitment

Every student of Infopath Academy is expected to obey this code of conduct and contribute to a peaceful, respectful, and productive school environment.
